  • Sketchbook - recommended 9” x 12” or larger

  • Pencil or pen for sketching and taking notes

  • 18” x 24” pad of SMOOTH newsprint - please double-check that you’re not buying the rough variety

  • Charcoal pencils, 2 of each 2B & 4B, and one 6B. Charcoal pencils look like this:

  • Kneaded eraser

  • Razor blade or x-acto knife for sharpening pencils

  • Sandpaper for sharpening pencils

  • Drawing board or hard surface

  • Optional: Vine charcoal, soft
